Recently, the Japanese companies AS Network and Bitway released a "game" (actually more of a tarot tutorial by one Midori Fujimori) for the Nintendo DS handheld game system called Let's Tarot. It comes with a rather charming set of original majors that manages to (just) avoid the all-too-common kawaii-induced hyperglycemia syndrome.
Given that 1) It costs $50, and 2) I don't have a DS, and 3) Even if I did, I don't read Japanese, so couldn't use it anyway, I'd planned to give it a pass. But when I stumbled upon a "used" copy for $12, I snatched it up. (The reason "used" is in quotes is that when it arrived, it was still in the original shrink-wrap, so it couldn't have been too used.)
Anyway, here are some of the cards. A few of them are actually a bit quirky (what do you supposed the attitude of the Devil's chained couple is supposed to be?) and I'd imagine the Star is as close to nudity as anything associated with Nintendo has ever come. Overall, pretty cute (in a relatively good way):
