Does anyone have this deck yet? If not, has anyone inquired about the price yet and received an answer?

Here's the URL - http://www.tarotunlocked.com/book-and-cards.html

It looks interesting - I only discovered it after it was listed (just today) at Aeclectic.

I should add that this deck is listed at Aeclectic Tarot under the title "Deirdre of the Sorrows" - however, the deck is not given that name anywhere on the artist's website.

I've just sent an email to inquire about the price. I'll post here when I find out - unless someone else beats me to it :).

thanks for the heads-up on this deck. I missed this thread on ATF which is why this forum is so valuable. we can focus exclusively on one thing here :)

looks like an interesting deck, it's very intense imagery, although I have to wonder why the price is not stated

Deirdre O’Donoghue's web site seems a bit flaky at the moment, but you can see the Devil card in the  Gallery

http://www.tarotunlocked.com/gallery.html

I have emailed her and asked to buy a deck. The price seems to be GBP26, Euro36 or $50.

Judging by the artwork of the Devil card it will be well worth buying.

You're right about the flakely website. If you go to the Gallery and click one of the little blue arrows and ...wait... and ...wait... and wait some more (without clicking the arrow again) you will eventually see another card. Repeat the process for a few more.

Yes, it took me a while to figure out how to browse through the gallery section on her site . . . I was clicking the arrows too fast, it seems.

Anyway, now that she has a PayPal link, I've gone ahead and ordered a copy. It's been a while since I've bought anything new (well, it's been 3 or 4 weeks, which feels like ages), so this is exciting!

The deck and book arrived this morning - very rapid delivery !

The book is entitled Tarot Unlocked and is written by Deirdre O'Donaghue. It contains the usual instructions for reading and the particular symbolism used and has full page coloured illustrations of the card images.

The deck which comes with the book is entitled The Deirdre of the Sorrows Tarot Deck, created by Deirdre O'Donaghue with the illustrator being Wayne McGuire. The artwork is in pencil, with areas being coloured with pencil also. This creates a soft subtle texture to the imagery, which is further emphasied by the card stock being a linen textured card.

The deck has emblematic pips and to a great extent follows the Rider-Waite style. It could be seen as a Rider-Waite clone with a Celtic-Irish orientation. It has some nice subtle humourous touches. In my opinion well worth purchasing.

After hearing about this deck on Adam's blog, I had to order one too.  It did arrive very quickly and is a really nice deck.  I would recommend it to anyone.

The cards are printed on a linen type cardstock, which makes each one seem more like an individual piece of artwork.  The touches of color on pencil sketches is also very well done.  I get a kick out of the Devil card, how many times do you see dogs with snakes coming out of their mouths? I've seen some drooling dogs that I felt that way about! :D

I agree with Adam and Skad - this deck is well worth the money. The art is beautiful and unique, and quite skillfully done. The cardstock is wonderful - unlaminated, matte, linen finish - and seems as if it could actually be used if the owner so desired.
