Hello all,

I've been looking for The Hermetic Tarot by Godfrey Dowson (1980's-ish) for quite some time now. However, the only ones I seem to be able to find are the reprinted versions from 2000-something which are either blurry or pixelated.
I was just wondering if anyone has this deck and is willing to part with it, or if not, knows where I can find it.

Thanks!
Hailee

This is a deck which required very clear printing as the designs rely on incredible detail.

Before the reprint the deck did fetch high prices, but this will have been eroded by the readily available cheap reprints.

I feel sure you could eventually find a copy. The main problem is making sure you are buying the original.

There appears to be at least one available on abebooks but you would have to check to make sure as they quote the modern ISBN number.

Hi - I just bought a brand new Hermetic tarot about 2 months ago. I had it ordered by Field's Books in San Francisco, from U. S. Games. It looks perfect to me. I see no blurring or pixelation. The copyright on flap says '1979, 2006 U.S Games, Inc'. On other flap 'printed in Italy'. The original artwork appears to have been black ink and there is a stippling technique used throughout. The tiny 'dots' of the stippling are quite clear and succinct. Perhaps the 2006 edition has corrected the defects that were in whatever 2000+ editions you've seen, or maybe U.S Games simply changed printers ?
ISBN-13: 978-0-913866-92-4
ISBN-10: 0-913866-92-x

Anyway, don't let this dissuade you from purchasing the 1980 deck from Kimtarot. An original is always more desirable than anything else :ro
