There are all kinds of dark decks this is one with a dark kind of humour ( irony, cynicism, ..) created by the Dutch comics artist Marcel Ruijters and published by " Le Denier Cri" who seem to specialise in all kind of irony and bizarre interpretations of conventional images. As a source of inspiration Ruijters used the TdM (among other things because " Le Denier Cri" is located in Marseilles) and also drew heavily upon the "" among other things for it's unusual numbering.

24 cards 22 normal and 'La Verité' (equivalent of Jupiter) en 'Intuition' (equivalent of Juno)

the numbering in this deck is:
La folle
I Le Magicien
II La Papesse
III L'Empereur
IIII Lamoureux
V Le Pape
VI L'Imperatris
VII Le Chariot
VIII Lermite
VIIII Justice
X La Roue De Fortune
XI La Force
XII La Pendue
XIIITemperance
XIIII La Mort
XVLe Diable
XVI La MaisonDieu
XVII La Lune
XVIII Letoile
XVIIII Le Soleil
XX Le Judgement
XXI le Monde

A bit too dark for me, but amazingly original in spite of the TdM connection.

Another one added to my list.  I am trying so hard not to buy.  I have debts which must be paid first.  This obsession is so powerful.  Wish I had an obsession to pay my bills.:(  But I don't:P

Just received mine today and it's absolutely delightful.

The Fool card includes the Flying Spaghetti Monster! How cool is that?

And could the World reference both Sisyphus and Katamari Damacy?

I wondered what that thing was, now I know it's the Flying Spaghetti Monster!  Oh no, someone has seen my cooking!

But who is Sisyphus and Katamari Damacy?

I got my deck last night, very quick shipping!  It is a fun deck!  I am so glad Adam set this forum up so we could get decks like this.  If it wasn't for the forum I probably would have never heard of it.  Course, I've been broke ever since.... :?:D

Wonderful.  I love the religion of the Flying Spaghetti Monster!  I may have a new avatar..  I needed a good laugh.

Most my days feel like I am Sisyphus.  Now I have a name for it.

I have mine. WOW. I love it ! The pastafarian reference would have made me love it anyway, but...

I wonder why death is XIIII though. Interesting. I want an LWB !

From what he told me the artist drew heavily upon the "Tarot in de herstelde orde"  for it's unusual numbering.

I finally received my set today.............I originally paid for these Dec. 2, 2007

after being told by Le Dernier Cris that my email inquiries were spam (how rude is that), I had to put in a paypal claim on Jan 7, 2008

Jan 14, 2008 paypal finally received a tracking # from them

a weird tech glitch won't allow me to cancel the claim now. now I have to run after paypal. unbelievable

it's never easy

but this is a fabulous oversized deck.....are these silk screened?
they're gorgeous

As far as I can tell, they are indeed silk screened - both front and back. And they're definitely gorgeous.

Finally just bought the Tarot Corrupt.  Can I afford it?  Nah!  Am I taking huge doses of Oxycontin since my knee surgery?  Yes.  Does that make me anxious about my budget?  What's a budget?:m

And, I've contacted the Gorey site for the Fantod.  Happy shirl ... dopey shirl.  Pity this stuff is addictive:x.

Got an email saying the Corrupt is coming.  The Fantod lot are a tad slow on the uptake though.  I would like to hear from them before the end of the 21st century.

I've run out of the drugs dratsit.  Now I have a head cold and cough.  I preferred the drugs.:gi

Knees doing okay though.

OMW, I didn't see him, the Flying Spaghetti Monster.   I know some of his followers!   I had been so happy to look at those scans and think smugly "those are cool, but now I have seen a dark deck that didn't call to me".   Dang!

Gosh ... I forgot to mention mine arrived last week.  How could I forget?  Oh yes ... I was on my knees blinded by the mystic insights channelled to me by the great God of the Pastafarians. :c Okay ... so that is a complete lie.  I was too busy hobbling next door to show off my gem to my elderly parents.

Dad (now 87) introduced me to tarot in the early '70's ... so he gets what he deserves :cl.  Actually, they both laughed themselves silly when I explained Pastafarianism.

Nice that they appreciate my passion.:ok

Six and a half months later, and I think I may have bought the last copy. I passed on one on the AT trading forum and regretted it as soon as it was snapped up. At any rate, I finally ordered one on the website (it may have been the doomy 'music' and some of the other artists' work that sent me fleeing the first time) and waited. And waited. Then I got an email saying they'd sold out and did I want a refund. Yes please. Nothing. Sent another email. Waited. Received an email saying they'd found one and would send it pronto. Waited.  And... at last it's here! Far brighter than the pix online (almost day-glo), but definitely silk-screen printed and quite quite fabulous. Do we need a de-enabling thread here as well? Would we even look at it...? :D
