it's the first Vampire deck I ever purchased; this is a really fun deck, the artistry is beautiful, the theme is eloquently expressed and it's very sexy. Victoria Frances is a wonderful artist. The pips aren't dynamically illustrative, but I'm glad she didn't feel the need to fall back on a RWS subtext to in order to satisfy the expecations of the Tarot establishment. The black roses, butterflies, masks and crosses are a heartfelt expression of her vision and appropriate to the spirit of the nocturnal world she has created. These symbols are honest and spontaneous. I could easily read with these cards like a dark mirror of a Marseille deck, which is not so innocent to begin with.
