I love the World card. Indeed, very oriental look with that window. And that sure is a "Little window". Does the title of the deck come from that? :hp

Anyway, it is lovely. I hope to see your deck in print someday.:ok

Thanks truelighth!
Actually, the deck is named after the "little window" in The Tower, but I've tried to find other ways to integrate the theme throughout.

Well, that sure is working. I noticed windows in other cards too. I think it works.  I should check the image of the Tower again for that little window :D.

Wow indeed - this will be a fabulous finished deck, Little Window! And I think French titles would suit it wonderfully - you've really captured the Tarot de Marseille feel and spirit, given it a twist of pure originality and made it your own.

Hi all,
Here is an updated The World card...I darkened the upper wall at Debra's suggestion. I think it makes the figures at the top "pop" a little better.

Next I will post the new The Lovers card....

Here is The Lovers!
All that is left to do now is The Pope and a new The Popess, which are currently in the works. I am hoping to finish this deck very soon!

Hi Marcia,
I don't think publishers are very interested in 22 card decks (I am not making pips), but I'll make a limited run of some sort on my own once I get all the pieces together.
Thanks for looking!

Here's what I like about these lovers.

Usually when there's a man between two women, he stands there like a dolt.  I suppose this is why people say the card means "choice" although maybe that's just the esoteric meaning.  Anyway, this fellow is actually doing something. But what?  It's ambiguous (I love ambiguity in art).  With his gesture he seems to be saying to the brunette, "Nope, sorry, I'm with Blondie."  And the similarity in their clothing (the light blue long sleeves) seems to say, "We belong together."  On the other hand, he's matching the brunette in their reds.  The blonde gal has the lovely purple cloak and white gown and white flower circlet that seem to signify "virtue" while the brunette has a real tiara, the kind I'd like to have, probably made of real gold!  And she's got a sexy behind.

Or--is he introducing a blonde to his wife, "Honey, here's my new love, sorry."

And they're on top of a hill, the kind of hill you can't stay on for long.  Obviously they had to walk up it, and they'll walk down in some configuration.

Everyone looks a little tense.   Especially him.

My point being, when you look at the scene there's clearly some kind of drama going on.

Meanwhile, the angel is properly blindfolded and armed, although it's not clear where the bow is, it must be there.  The angel's arms look stationary but the light semi-circular lines to its left look like movement lines--wings are beating and bowstring is vibrating.  And I love that the arrow is so prominent and follows the tradition of pointing at no one in particular.

:ok

Wow...glad to hear so many people are interested!

Debra, yes, I think ambiguity plays a big role in the design of that card. The ones I used as reference tend to show just a tangle of arms, with no clear story.

Just for fun I had OnePotato shoot this photo of me working on the last two cards. I hope to have them finished next week....

Thanks for sharing the photo-

I love to see people create (for me it is similar to watching a tightrope walker)

I'm on sabbatical from buying new decks these days but yours will be the exception !

Hi Geslina, Mr. la-luna and Adam...thanks so much for the encouraging words!

This project has taken a long time, mainly because I get distracted easily. Right now I need to finish a back design and finish creating the composite computer files with typography in place. I don't know yet when the deck will get produced.

But at least I have all the cards drawn! Here is a more recent picture....

Thanks again...you've inspired me to get back to work!

and the other 56 cards??? Hmmm? C'mon, girl, get busy!!
(heehee, just kidding)

All together, they look great...I suppose that is one of the hardest parts about doing this, is that they all work as a group. I am looking forward to seeing the finished result, and hope you will also consider a complete deck, sometime in the future

You know, I consider 22 to be a complete deck.

Well, 22 is complete, so is 78.  My personal favorite is the 22 followed by a 78!
:cl
hmmm. that makes 100.....

I agree with the others, I have pulled back from buying many decks, but this one is one that I think I need.  Yes, need.  definetly need.

Gee, it's nice to see that people are so interested….

I'm not sure what the final product will be at this point…I had originally planned to produce a full offset printed edition of a few hundred copies for general sale. But the tone of the marketplace has changed so dramatically since I started this project. Given some of the things I've seen happen (it all makes me very sad actually), I find myself unwilling to risk sinking a lot of money into it anymore. Frankly, I was so discouraged at one point I nearly dropped the deck altogether, but several people have been good about encouraging me to continue.

I'll keep you guys posted if I figure out a plan.
Thanks again for all the encouragement!

I can't understand how I've managed to miss this one until now! What a wonderful body of work - so colourful and alive and utterly unique. I can understand your trepidation about sinking money into producing a deck, but I really hope that a solution can be found so that you can get it out there - it is too good not to!
Please keep going with this; you are very talented with a lovely style all of your own and put me on the list for a copy of this beautiful deck.
