Arnell - where will they be mailed from ? If from the US, we in the UK have MAJOR issues with customs fees (well, more with the fee the post office charges to collect those...)

Is it perhaps possible for some to go through the Museo ?

Good hearing from you Gregory.
Well...Carmen, the artist is currently in the States until at least June (doing various art gigs, etc.) but says she'll look into setting something up with a shop there when she gets home. I adore the Tarot Museum folks & enjoy working with them...however they're not sooo great at selling 'outside merch', alas. I sent them a few of Ellen's decks to sell last year (Dark Goddess, Tarot of Crone & Minoan) but they've never posted them to their site or anything. May be an Italian tax issue, not sure but they don't share them on the site with a way to purchase. So prolly not a great option.
But...I can post a message here when Carmen finds a shop willing to mail decks (outside the U.S.), sometime after June. Hope that helps.
It's such a beautiful deck set...I love the imagery and fresh takes on many of the cards. Hope you get a chance to check it out. :) Have a great week. Spring should arrive here in Chicago...eventually.

Warmly,
Arnell

PS: So just to be clear, the Pre-orders will be mailed from the U.S. And I'll be the main distributor. But yes, hopefully Carmen can set something up for international orders later.

Oh yes, good idea Gregory. I noticed once Ellen uses Little Red for her decks. Carmen can look into it with her inventory (in Italy) when she returns around June.

Hope you & everyone at the Forum have a lovely weekend (even if Spring is late coming again this year).

xoxo

I hope she'll find a way to ship from Europe. A gorgeous deck, afordable price, but over $36 shipping oversea plus custom fee = you end up with almost $90 (more than double price to pay for the deck). It's a stopper although I jumped to buy the deck when I saw it.

Thank you Rylla...good hearing from you & appreciate your feedback on Pholarchos Tarot (1st impression).
Carmen promised to look into Little Red when she returns to Italy around June (most likely after pre-order phase.)
It would be helpful if those who want the shop to carry this deck, to request Pholarchos Tarot by name or webpage: http://www.arnellart.com/carmen-tarot.htm so they recognize there is demand for this new deck by Carmen Sorrenti.

And yes, totally agree...mailing internationally is too expensive, especially if there is also custom's tax. I wish I had control over such things. I prefer using 'Priority Mail' because it insures full value of deck in transit & is also supposed to arrive that much quicker. But by stating full value (for insurance), the customs tax is based on that value as well I suppose, tho I do tend to list as 'gift' (& include wee gifties). After the chaotic pre-order phase, I could possibly send 1st Class which would save a few dollars but then, it is not insured...and if something happened during it's travels...?
That said, I've only had an issue mailing 1st class a handful of times over the years. Best solution ~ if Carmen can arrange for it to be available at a shop there. Hope so & thanks for your interest.
Warmly, Arnell

In the UK, they also charge on postage and packing (NO idea how they work out packing) so a deck that costs $22.50 to mail will attract duty on that as WELL..... And then the post office charges £8 to collect the duty etc....

Yeah that's ridiculous Gregory... Am guessing your Postal system in UK has gone Private? I remember Frank Jensen often complaining about Denmark ever since privatization happened. No longer house drop off of packages of any size...had to pick up at PO for a fee plus pay a tax/customs. Well at least you have affordable healthcare there, right? Yeah they keep threatening to privatize the PO here too, which will just make it so much worse.

Anyway this is such a beautiful deck & potent too...hope you'll be able to check it out at Little Red a bit later. I think you'll love it...very unique & special. Have a good one.

Hi Arnell - it looks wonderful. Curious (as usual) I looked up Pholarchos...

From: https://www.lumennatura.com/2015/12/21/stillness-and-incubation-origins-of-western-healing/

The word Pholarchos only found in inscriptions at Velia, otherwise unheard of in the whole of Greek and Latin literature. It’s a combination of two words. Archos means a lord, chief, person in charge. A pholeos is a lair where animals hide, a den. Often it’s a cave. It’s a place where animals go into retreat: where they lie motionless, absolutely still, hardly breathing. They sleep there, or they stay in a state similar to sleep, or they hibernate….being in a state of suspended animation….

So the men called Pholarchos on those inscriptions from Velia were in charge of a lair, a place of suspended animation. Those people called Polarchos were healers, and healing in the ancient world had a great deal to do with states of suspended animation. It was all tied up in a clumsy-sounding word: incubation. -p79

To incubate is just to lie down in a place…

NO it hasn't gone private. It is just that customs has delegated collecting fees to them and they had the bright (NOT) idea of adding that massive fee for their "work" sending out a card instead of your package, so you have to go and collect it. And of course, the limits here are obscenely low, so that virtually any package not marked gift will attract VAT - and quite a lot of gifts too. There was a hell of a row a couple of years ago when a New Zealand granddad sent his grandson an All Blacks T-shirt for his birthday. OK they aren't cheap but to hit a little boy with a huge bill before he could have his birthday present... UGH !

Thanks Goldenweb, nice hearing from you. Yes it's a rather strange, uncommon Greek-ish word but its meaning fits well Carmen's deck & work with dreams and other related passions. She talks a bit about the origin of Pholarchos & and how it all came together in the intro of booklet (which comes w/ deck). I love the rather poetic, dreamy way Carmen writes...

Expecting shipment towards end of May so am pretty excited. Hope your week goes super smooth.
Cheers

Thanks for writing, Rylla.
Yeah me too. Carmen's Tower allowed me to perceive this tough card in new light. It was a meaningful epiphany for the artist too; she told me a while back, it's the one painting she won't part with.
Oh, by the way any Tarot folks living in the NY or Boston area, she is planning 3 art exhibits with paintings from her deck this Fall. I'll post more info on her deck page http://www.arnellart.com/carmen-tarot.htm & Facebook when I have more details. Should be pretty cool. She's a beautiful, charismatic & warm person and a lot of fun. I hope to attend at least one of her events this year.

Hi Arnell,
I can't resist this beautiful deck, I'd like to buy it but Paypal won't allow me to change my address from Canadian to Romanian (it asks me to make a second account, another email address, so on).
I'd pay by PayPal for international shipping and I'd give you my address in Romania where to ship the deck. Would that be possible? Would it be OK with you?
