Il Meneghello has produced a full-size replica edition of the 15th century Tarocchi del Mantegna; This is a new reproduction made directly from the original prints and is far more detailed then their previous edition which went out of print at the beginning of the year. Reminds me of Ladenspelders' edition from 1980.

The new edition includes a 130 page book by Cristina Dorsini with extensive discussion of these neoclassical Renaissance symbols that were so influential to what became the Major Arcana of the Tarot.

Excellent question. Thanks for sending me back into the stacks. The 1981 Solleone was a fine printing and I always had a soft spot for it. But behold: as night differs from day, (as I recently had the opportunity to observe on an outing to Northwest Nebraska on August 21, no comparison.
